Abstract
The Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) at the University of Washington will provide energy use, productivity enhancement, and waste reduction assessments to qualifying manufacturers. The IAC center will have two objectives: A) to provide service to manufacturers to identify monetary savings from reduced energy and waste costs and increased revenue from productivity enhancements and B) to provide an educational opportunity to engineering students through on- site plant visits, data analysis, and technical report writing. Energy saving measures will include lighting and HVAC system retrofits, heat recovery applications, compressed air leaks survey, and motor upgrades.
