Abstract
The objective force of the Future Combat System (FCS) is
characterized by coalition of unmanned air, ground and sea)
vehicles, soldiers on the ground, and advanced but resource-
constrained sensors, all making use of wireless networking.
The digital networks thus formed consist of nodes with
varying capabilities that must be agile, fault tolerant,
secure and available for the duration of the mission
duration. It is vital to the mission success that the
coalition network provides authentic, reliable, secure and
timely information dissemination. Thus, Quality of Service
(QoS) (which may include packet loss rate, delay, delay
variacne and throughput) and security are critical features
that must be inherent in the complex network formed by FCS
systems. This project proposes to develop robust algorithms
and protocols that incorporate security into QoS guarantees
in the information and maintennance of resource limited sub-
systems of the coalition of networks.
